Thanksgiving Eve Service

Join us on Wednesday, November 26 at 7:30 p.m. for a special Holy Eucharist service in thanksgiving for our many blessings.

The Rev. Allison Sandlin Liles Guest Speaker

On Sunday, November 16, we welcome the Rev. Allison Sandlin Liles to Holy Cross. She will be presenting a Forum on the Episcopal Peace Fellowship, and sharing news about what this agency within our church does and about several of its current projects. Allison is especially interested in dialog with the many passionate Episcopalians of all opinions.

After serving one year as interim, Allison became executive director of the Episcopal Peace Fellowship (EPF), a national organization connecting all who seek a deliberate response to injustice and violence and want to pray, study and take action for justice and peace in our communities, our church, and the world.

Get Ready for Advent!

Join us Sunday, November 30, the first Sunday in Advent, at 10:00 as we decorate Advent wreaths. Kits with wreaths, taper candles, and ribbon will be available for a small $5 donation. You are invited to bring holly or other decorative touches to add to your wreaths and join other parishioners while we adorn our wreaths. Advent lighting liturgy and calendars will also be provided.

UTO Ingathering

The United Thank Offering Fall ingathering will be held on Sunday, November 23. If you don’t have a box yet, please pick up one now in the Narthex and fill it up with coins. When we place coins in our box every day, we count our many blessings. If coins aren’t your thing, we have envelopes available for nice big checks. These offerings are used to support grants for ministries at home and overseas as an outreach of the Episcopal Church.

Scholars Program: Biblical Prehistory, or Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Ur

On Sunday, Nov. 23 at 10:00 a.m., Wade Hinkle will lead a tour around the Fertile Crescent, exploring the early civilizations that preceded the Kingdom of Israel. Can’t make it Sundy morning? Wade will offer a second tour on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 7:30 p.m.
