Parish Leadership

Rector
As rector, Kelly is responsible for overseeing the worship and ministries of the church, and partnering with parish leadership to discern God’s call on our community. She has served at Holy Cross since 2020, and her favorite parts of ministry are teaching, preaching, and helping people see our complicated world through the Gospel’s lens of hope, justice, and love. She is a graduate of George Washington University and Yale Divinity School, and has previously served congregations in Connecticut, Maine, DC, and Virginia. In her free time, she likes to swim, read, travel with her husband Alex, and watch lots of women’s soccer. Kelly finds great joy, much inspiration, and lots of laughter in serving alongside the people of Holy Cross.

Associate Rector
Crystal supports the rector in the shared work of parish leadership and pastoral care. Her ministry focuses especially on stewardship, children and youth formation, and helping cultivate a joyful, welcoming, and connected parish community —which we simply call “good vibes” around these parts. She has a particular passion for preaching and has written books and articles on preaching politics, preaching into fear, and sacramental preaching. And Crystal enjoys helping people discover where their gifts, questions, and stories belong within the life of the church.
Crystal joined the staff of Holy Cross in the summer of 2024 and is delighted that they continue to let her come back each week. She previously served at Saint George’s, Arlington, and Christ Church, Georgetown. She is a graduate of Virginia Theological Seminary and the University of Alabama School of Law, where her focus was death penalty defense.
Originally from Alabama, Crystal will always say y'all and never you all. In her free time, she reads voraciously, writes creatively, paints, runs, and spends time with her people: her husband, Bradford; their children, Lev and Eliot; and their many many pets. Some of her favorite things are cats, Jesus, literature, and lunch —and not necessarily in that order.
You can find Crystal’s sermons and a list of her publications here: www.seekingsacrament.com.

Minister of Music
Nick Lodico-Keirstead has faithfully served the congregation of Holy Cross for more than a decade as both Choir Director and Organist, helping to shape and enrich the parish's musical life through worship and sacred music. In these roles, he works closely with singers, clergy, and parishioners to create meaningful and prayerful musical experiences, drawing upon a deep appreciation for the Anglican musical tradition.
Nick has served as organist in parishes in Northern Virginia and the Greater Philadelphia area, developing extensive experience in liturgical music, choral accompaniment, and organ performance. His dedication to excellence in sacred music has enabled him to foster a love of music among congregations and choir members alike.
Beyond his work in the church, Nick is an active member of the regional choral community. He sings with the Voce Chamber Singers, a semi-professional ensemble based in Vienna, Virginia, known for its artistic excellence and innovative programming. Through this work, he continues to refine his musicianship and collaborate with accomplished vocalists from across the region.
Nick is also a member of the Association of Anglican Musicians, an organization dedicated to supporting and advancing the ministry of music within the Anglican tradition. His ongoing commitment to sacred music, choral artistry, and liturgical leadership reflects a passion for using music to inspire worship, strengthen community, and enrich the spiritual lives of others.
