Music Ministry
Holy Cross Choir
Whether you are brand new to singing or have sung in choirs all your life, choir is a meaningful way to participate in parish life and offers a rewarding opportunity to serve the congregation, and contribute to the beauty and holiness of worship through song.
The Holy Cross Choir is a vibrant and welcoming ministry that plays a central role in the worship life of the parish. Through music, the choir helps lead the congregation in prayer and praise each week, enhancing the liturgy with a rich tradition of sacred choral repertoire. In addition to supporting congregational singing, the choir offers a weekly anthem that reflects the themes of the church year and deepens the worship experience.
Membership in the choir is open to all who enjoy singing, regardless of prior musical training or choral experience. Our singers come from a variety of musical backgrounds, ranging from seasoned choristers to those who are joining a choir for the first time. The choir fosters a supportive and encouraging environment where members can build lasting friendships while sharing their gifts in service to the church.
During the academic year, the choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Rehearsals provide an opportunity not only to prepare music for upcoming services but also enjoy time for fellowship. Choir members also gather before worship each Sunday to warm up their voices, review the anthem, and prepare for the day's liturgy.
Holy Cross Concert Series
Established in 2017, the mission of the series is to enrich the lives and worship of Holy Cross’s friends and neighbors through musical offerings, primarily free concerts at Holy Cross featuring local professional musicians. By offering high-quality music outside of a worship setting, we create an opportunity to invite and welcome our friends, neighbors, and members of the general community to Holy Cross and to connect them more deeply to their spirituality through the beauty of music.
